Was so sad when this was discontinued. This was as close to a HG I have ever gotten with a sunscreen. Loved the high PPD, the spray that quickly dried(I used a quick patting on method), no white cast, and was fantastic for hot summer weather, it stayed put without making me any more oily, and did not ball up. The finish was not matte, so I would always blot with a couple of blotting sheets and powder over it. But the shine was coverable, so not such a big deal. After it was d/c'd I tried Garnier Ambre Solaire kids spray spf 50 and it didn't even compare(tacky, shiny). Will continue to look for something similar.

I'm so sad that this product has been discontinued! It was my HG sunscreen. I loved the light consistency, the Mexoryl-based formulation, and the ability to spray it on (though it has to be rubbed in) for fuller and more even coverage. This is one of the very few sunscreens that I would put on my face, where my skin is very sensitive and usually dry, without having to worry about irritation or breakouts. Bring it back!!!

I know this has been discontinued but I am reviewing anyway in case someone is able to get their hands on it. :) I gave this 4 lippies instead of 3 b/c it IS a really good sunscreen...just not for my face. I tried to use it as facial ss but it's too greasy for me, didn't work too well under makeup and I just didn't like the feel. Since I still have a lot left in the bottle I've been using it as a body ss. Much better. I use this mostly on my shoulders which have a tendency to get extremely dark very quickly. I spray this all over my shoulders and down my arms and rub in quickly. I drove around with the top down all day and didn't get any color. I couldn't believe it! Not a tan line in sight.

I am so sad they discontinued this product last year. It was my "HG" sunscreen. Its replacement/update, the Anthélios XL SPF 50 Spray, was a horrific one - one I also reviewed on MakeupAlley. Unfortunately, most of the Anthélios line balls up, leaves a white cast, is too sticky or shiny, or seeps into my eyes and makes them red until I wash my face that night. A sad loss this was.

Of all the European sunscreens, I find this to be the most wearable. It has not caused me breakouts, but I find if I wear it too often that it will irritate my skin slightly making it a bit red and itchy. It is the best I have found so far, so I stick with it.
I really like the spray nozzle and the initial texture. It does dry quite fast, so I recommend spreading fast! I spray a bit onto my fingers and then smooth it onto my face. I am a little bit shiny when I use this, but nothing unbearable. I plan to try Sofina Lucent next.

I also bought this because of all the skincare board raves. However, I hated it! I didn't like having to be extra careful with its application (it would ball up on me all the time) and it was extremely greasy and shiny on my skin. On top of that, it gave me tons of clogged pores and pimples after 3 weeks of use. So now I just have a bottle of it sitting around! What a waste of money.

After all of the hype on the skincare board, I broke down and tried LRP dermo-peds. I am prone to my melasma darkening when out in the sun, so that is always a good test of the effectiveness of my s/s. I like the dermo-peds because of the easy application, but the downfall is that it readily balls up if you touch it before it's completely dried. Secondly, the spray pump broke before I finished the bottle and when I pump it, the product sprays everywhere (not cool!). This is a fine s/s for really cloudy days, but if your skin will see any direct sunlight, DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. I was outside for about 20 minutes wearing a ton of this s/s and a hat. My melasma darkened considerably and continued to darken during the summer until I switched brands. It definitely doesn't live up to the praises that I heard on the board.

I love LRP for lots of reasons! This comes in a spray container, so no messy blops everywhere. Also, it keeps oily/acne prone skin nice and matte in the summer and acts as a pretty decent primer as well. This stuff has cause me no breakouts which is amazing, let me tell ya! This is the first high-end ss I have tried, but I did my mua homework. During the winter months, I plan on using Avene 50+ ss. You can purchase this and the Avene product on Tubotica.com. Love them - shipping is pricey, but customer service rocks and you get tons of samples too! i highly recommend tubotica! Below is a my 2 cents about sunscreen and more information/links are provided below that.
Ladies, 80-90% of aging is due to sun exposure damage - And this is a well-known statistic! What is the obsession with the tanning booths/beds? Get a good bronzer (Nars Laguna is my favorite) or a self tanner (L'oreal Sublime GLOW). Why spend the $$$ for cosmetic procedures to reverse the effects of aging, yet we will not wear a good sunscreen under our makeup? This does not make sense! Plus, think of the risks you are taking: 1. Possible complications with cosmetic procedures! 2. Worse yet, skin cancer!
You need a broad spectrum sunscreen that is stable. A broad spectrum sunscreen is one that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. A stable sunscreen is one that does not break down over a short period of time (most do after 2 hours or so) due to sun exposure. Wear this everyday no matter how much exposure you get. Just walking outside to your car everyday can age you significantly.

After hearing about this product all the time on MUA, I decided to purchase it when in Italy on vacation. I found this sunscreen to be greasy and made my skin really shiny It created a very strange feeling and caused milia because it was so greasy on me. It worked well for my body, but felt even greasy there. Not impressed by this one.

This is it. the sunscreen of sunscreens. I have such sensitive, cystic acne prone, seborrheic dermatitis, fair skin and looked for years for a great, light sunscreen.
Until sunscreen comes in a pill or a monthly shot, this is the HG.
truly ultimate complexion protection (alright, that sounded stupid but it's late and you get what i mean): mexoryl XL, SX, Titanium Dioxide and Octocrylene. Best coverage, best feel, least greasy, won't break you out. so grateful to have found the reviews that led me to this sunscreen.
thanks

This has become my HG (and I don't use that phrase lightly) sunscreen for daily application. I use this for my face only due to the cost. It has a lightweight feel and it does not leave white cast. This has not caused me to break out or caused a reaction like many sunscreens in the past. I will absolutely repurchase, even though this product is not readily available in the US. Hello, FDA are you listening?
For reference- age 37 with dry, sensitive acne-prone skin. Skin tone is PPP / lighter than MAC NC15 / BB Porcelain / Becca Sand / lighter than Alima W1.

*PIC* Yep, I'm so glad I bought this also! Great sunscreen indeed! Does not leave my face shiny and sweaty looking at all, blends nicely and easily, no white cast nor irritation. It does not leave my face that matte, but more like there is a slight sheen towards matte (without of-course using anything over it) , but nothing to turn me off using it and I really think I may have found my HG ss for the face. Retails for 16.00 euros here.
UPDATE: I LOVE THIS! It really disappears once i apply and no shine at ALL!

I finally broke down and ordered this sunscreen from Tubotica and I'm so happy I did. I've never used a sunscreen with such a nice finish! I use 6 or 7 squirts for my face and gently spread it around, but not totally rubbing it in. I usually let it sink in for 15-20 minutes, but it really doesn't need that long. I've never had a problem with it balling up, but that is probably because I am applying it to a completely bare face. This is one of the first sunscreens that did not burn or sting upon application. I will definitely repurchase, and will probably order several at a time to save on shipping costs.

I cannot even begin to describe how much I love this sunscreen. I have tried just about every sunscreen I could get my hands on for the last 15 years, and this is BY FAR the best. I have slightly oily, acne-prone skin that is sensitive and prone to redness. This goes on as a light liquid, then dries matte. It looks white when it first goes on, but after it dries I don"t notice it looking too white. It doesn"t break me out, which is like a miracle. Every other sunscreen I have tried breaks me out, so I was expecting this one to and was pleasantly surprised when it didn"t. This doesn"t burn or make my face red like most chemical sunscreens do, and it doesn"t smother my skin like physical sunscreens do. It is easy to remove. I don"t wear makeup over it so I can"t speak to how it wears under makeup. I also have trouble with the sprayer sometimes but I think it might be from not pushing the pump straight down, because if I fiddle with it, it clears up. I am so happy to find a high SPF, high PPD sunscreen that I actually like to wear!!! I will definitely repurchase, I never want to be without it!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. After years of trying to find the perfect sunscreen (UVA/UVB protection in a non greasy/shiny texture that feels amazing/as if I wasn't wearing any sunscreen at all), on a trip to Greece I picked up this product and fell in love. I was struggling to decide between this product and the fluid extreme. Although the fluid extreme has a higher ppd and spf rating, I picked this one because I heard good things about it and it was a larger format for a cheaper price (also, I live in Canada so this spf/ppd is perfect for me). It isn't very difficult to apply (i've never experienced it balling up on me) and I spray 8 times into my palm and then apply it on my face with my fingertips. I let it sink in and then apply MAC Studio Fix on top for a perfect finish. I used to use Vichy Gel Cream Spf 20 (not too bad but nowhere near in the same league as dermo-peds) and Ombrelle (great protection but awful gooey sticky shiny mess/texture). I picked up 3 bottles of the stuff and hopefully it will last for a few months until I manage to get to Europe again. I paid 15.95 euros per bottle including tax

This is a very good sunscreen. It took me some time to figure out how to make the application work, i.e not balling up, smooth application of makeup on top etc. Once I get that right, this is a dream to use. At first, I got a German one which took a life and a half to dry, and it balled up like crazy (it said Dermo-Kids on the bottle). But I refused to give up and ordered from another company, and it was a French one they sent (which said Dermo-Pediatrics). The French one is amazing. On the bottles, they both said "Made in France". Although it contains alcohol, it does not irritate my skin or I don't even smell it. I have been using this for more than a month, and still love it. Ordering on line is a hassle though. I ordered for Beautyplatinium.com for the French bottle. Love this one until I find a better.

I loved the way this felt on my skin and that it's matte. However, after wearing on my chest, face and neck after a day at the beach I broke out in this weird, hot red swollen rash. Was not a sunburn because I reapplied often. I have no idea what caused it and it took a week to go away.

UPDATE: Ended up giving me dermatitis. I think the problem might be over irritating my skin with retinoids, so not changing my review. Hopefully I'll be able to use this on a second try after my skin calms down. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I loved this from the start, but held off on a review because sometimes I get delayed reactions. I bought this with 4 other sunscreens, tried it second, and have left the other sunscreens in a drawer b/c I love this too much to want to mess with them, it's that good. Per the scboard, 6-7 pumps is 1/4 tsp, so there's no guess work or eyeballing or tracking down my measuring spoons. I spread it lightly and pat/rub to let it sink in. It leaves a slight shine that disappears in 10-15 minutes. Not stinging or irritation unless I'm already irritated from overdoing RAM .1%. Generally I use it over a moisturizer, a couple of times when I've felt more oily I've just used it directly to my skin. It feels like nothing once it's absorbed, and I've noticed that my skin tone has evened up while using it- I think it stays better than the Anthelios SX (plus it has a higher PPD and SPF). If I'm really gross and sweaty (like, spent the day cleaning old apartment w/ no AC & there's dust & dirt everywhere) I will have pilling by the end of the day, but for less strenuous situations, I've had minimal problems. I think this is my new go-to for Spring-Summer-Fall (I'll keep Anthelios SX on hand for winter when I need more moisture anyway). When I repurchase, I'll get a couple to cut down on shipping, and it will work out to be cheaper than Anthelios SX. continued >>

Any sunscreen is a compromise between protection and finish, and the LRP Dermo-Peds spray achieves a reasonable balance. It dries relatively matte, leaves a slight white cast (TiO2), and is slightly drying and irritating on my skin, which is semi-sensitive. This is probably the most wearable of the highly UVA-protective Euro sunscreens, and could be a good purchase for a man (which is lucky for me, since I am one). Some sunscreen extremists undoubtedly won't be satisfied with PPD 18 (LOL) but I'll probably buy it again, with a heavy heart; the Holy Grail of a matte, transparent, high PPD product remains elusive.

I apply 3 pumps on each cheek and 3 pumps on forehead and work it to homogeneous whiteness while it dries out. The moment it dries out you should not rub it or it will ball up. I don't use cosmetics or moisturizer underneath so it is a genuine issue of the sunscreen. Maybe an hour after application when it totally dries out, it's ok to rub it - it won't ball up.
Another issue is that if I apply 3 pumps/cheek it is a little too shiny for my taste but not something too bad. Applying 2 pumps/cheek is much better in terms of shine but I don't think it is protective enough. You have to apply 1/4 teaspoon on the whole face which I measured to be 10-12 pumps with my rectangular bottle. The previous model had other type of bottle, the pumps may differ.
Apart from the above two issues, I like the TiO2 in it which evens the skin color to an extent that I have people asking me what I'm using and thinking that I am 27 when I'm actually 34.
I also like that despite the fact that sunscreen contains alcohol and chemical sunscreens, my sensitive pre-rosacea skin doesn't get irritated by it. Of course sometimes I feel the alcohol the moment I apply it but that is a barely noticeable warmth which lasts till the alcohol evaporates. I apply the sunscreen very close to eyes, practically all over my lower and uppper eye lids and have no issues with irritation.
UPDATE[April 2008]: I no longer use it. I don't like the TiO powder in it - tends to collect in pores or small lines around the eyes and emphasize them.
